Abstract:  A national Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) has been established to facilitate the generation of the scientific evidence, through future clinical trials, to support the listing of specific medicines on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).The Palliative Care Unit (PCU) at Hollywood Private Hospital is the lead clinical site in Western Australia (WA) and was involved in this project. In order to qualify as a potential collaborative site for clinical studies in palliative care, the PaCCSC Feasibility Audit assessed the research capacity of this clinical site through a three-month prospective audit of medical records to determine an appropriate patient population, and a service summary to identify the ability of the service to participate in future clinical studies.
