Palliative Residential Aged Care (APRAC) Project

Funding: the Australian Department of Health & Aged Care ($650,000)

Abstract: to develop empirically based guidelines for palliative care in residential aged care facilities. The tender has also required the development of competencies for all staff employed in residential aged care facilities and curriculum development to enable staff to achieve these competencies. Recommendations for implementation of the guidelines and curriculum will also be provided.
