Professor Linda Kristjanson
Professor Linda Kristjanson is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Development at Curtin University of Technology.
Professor Kristjanson has been involved in the field of palliative care research, health care education and project management for over twenty years. She has a comprehensive research background in palliative care, and was the Director of the WA Centre for Cancer and Palliative Care from 1997 to November 2006.
Prior to her appointment at Curtin University of Technology in April 2006, Professor Kristjanson was the Associate Dean of Research and Higher Degrees at Edith Cowan University, and has led the development of a number of productive research centres and institutes. She has held an array of significant appointments including The Cancer Council WA Chair of Palliative Care; and was the Director of the Centre for Nursing Research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She was also the Director of Hospice Research for Silver Chain Hospice Service in WA.
Professor Kristjanson has received more than $30 million in research grants and has received competitive research funding from local and national organizations in Canada, the USA and Australia. She has successfully completed approximately 75 competitively funded projects, published more than 130 refereed articles and book chapters in the areas of palliative care, aged care and nursing research, and has made contributions to major international journals and monographs in the field. She was chosen as the 2002 Australian Telstra Business Woman of the Year for her entrepreneurial work in health and science.
